Who builds the sheds?
Valley Built Sheds is part of Banner Buildings, a family-owned shed dealer in Columbus since 1969. Your shed is built by the same crew that builds Banner's sheds, and we're fully insured. Questions anytime: call 706-243-1278, Mon to Fri 8am to 5pm, Sat 10am to 2pm.
What's included in the price?
The shed, built on your property by our crew, with a door, windows and leveling on concrete blocks up to 10 inches of slope. Wood sheds are also caulked and painted. Sales tax and any permit fee are added at checkout.
Can I see my shed before I order?
Yes. Our 3D designer shows your shed in wood or aluminum at every size we build, in your colors. You can move the doors and windows, add a roll-up door or more windows, and see the price change as you go. When it looks right, tap Get My Price and your design comes with your request.
Can you build a custom size?
Yes. Our listed sizes run from 8x10 to 12x24, but we also build larger and custom sizes, like a 16x20 wood shed or a 16x24 aluminum shed with a lean-to. Request a custom quote with the size you need.
What's the warranty?
Aluminum sheds have a lifetime warranty against rust and corrosion on the siding, roof and trim. Wood sheds have a 5-year warranty on the siding and a 5-year warranty on the roof. Every shed also has a 1-year workmanship warranty on the framing, doors and windows.
Do I need a permit?
It depends on your county and sometimes your city. Columbus and Phenix City always require one. Harris, Talbot and Meriwether counties don't for our sizes. When one is needed, we pull it for you for a $250 filing fee plus the county's permit fee, usually around $50 to $150. See where we build for each county.
How soon can you build?
We give you a build date from our current schedule when you order. If you need a permit, add about 7 to 10 business days for approval, sometimes more depending on the county.
What does my yard need?
A spot big enough for the shed with room for the crew to work around it. Some slope is fine: leveling up to 10 inches is included, and more is $7 per extra block. If the shed would sit more than about 2 feet off the ground, we'll suggest a flatter spot or talk through other options.
How do I pay?
A 25% deposit by card when you reserve, and the balance when your shed is finished. Financing is available through Foundation Finance, subject to credit approval.
Do you offer rent-to-own?
Not for sheds built on site. You can pay in full or apply for financing.
What if I need to cancel?
You get a full refund if you cancel within 3 days of signing, or if the site check or permit shows we can't build it. After that, we refund your deposit minus any permit fees already paid, until materials are ordered. The full terms are on our deposits and refunds page.
Should I pick wood or aluminum?
Aluminum costs less, goes up in a day and the siding never needs paint. Wood has a classic look, is painted in the colors you choose, and offers more roof options like metal, steeper pitches and overhangs.
